Donald Trump raised up to $1 million a day in donations after the FBI searched his home in Palm Beach, Florida.

Over the past week, Trump's team solicited donations through a flurry of emails that denounced the FBI search as a threat to democracy and an "unprecedented intrusion of the rights of every American citizen."

One email said "we need every single American to take action and bolster our official Trump defense fund." This is the only way to help save America.

According to a report from The Washington Post, supporters reached up to $1 million dollars in a couple of days.

Two people who spoke to the newspaper said that the daily numbers ranged from $200,000 to $300,000, but it's not clear how much was raised in total.

The sources said that Trump's team saw a higher number of contributors and larger donations. The donations have leveled off.

The team did not respond to Insider's request for comment.

Emails for donations are more effective when they are attached to a news event such as the FBI search, according to a person who spoke to The Post.

Some of the documents may have contained nuclear information.

The donations can help Trump as he looks to run for president in the future.

The Save America political action committee raised more than 100 million dollars as of March.
