A new feature rolling out from TikTok will allow the short-form video app to show up in more places on Meta's social networking platforms. TikTok has been experimenting with a new sharing feature that will allow users to publish their TikTok Stories to rival social networks, including both Facebook andInstagram.

You might not see the option in your own app just yet because the feature only recently began rolling out to TikTok users.

The move could give TikTok's content increased visibility on Meta's platforms, as the tech giant has been working to downrank recirculated TikTok videos in reels Meta told its creators that it would prioritize original content on Reels across both Facebook andInstagram and that it would be on the lookout for watermarks.

It could be a new way for TikTok creators to share their work with their followers on other social networks without having to compete with Reels.

A new sharing interface for TikTok Stories was discovered by watchful.ai. Users used to be able to share their TikTok Stories directly with their TikTok friends if they tapped their profile picture in the share sheet. Users can save the videos to their device, change their privacy settings, or uninstall the videos from their device.

This sharing option will include a row of popular social apps, as well as an option to copy a link to the video, according to images provided by Watchful.ai.

The new row has a quick-tap option to share to other websites. This does not include the ability to cross-post to social media sites. This is not about TikTok videos. Similar to other social platforms, stories can include either static images or videos. Unless TikTok creators cross-post their TikTok videos to their TikTok Stories, it is not a way to share TikToks to other social media platforms.

TikTok Stories aren't a good fit for Reels as they tend to consist of more casual or personal posts or Q&As between the creator and fans It's the same type of content you see on the photo sharing site. The new feature could be a way for a creator who primarily publishes to TikTok to reach followers who are more likely to use other popular social networking apps.

TikTok didn't say when the feature would be fully rolled out. TikTok Stories is still being tested around the world. It is not a fully launched product, so features such as this new sharing option may or may not be rolled out to the app to all users, or they may be changed by the time the product is launched publicly.
