Reading 3-0 Blackburn
Substitute Lucas Joao sealed the victory for Reading in the second half

After a heavy loss at the weekend, Reading bounced back with a convincing win over early Championship leaders.

Early in the first half, defender Tom McIntyre nodded Tom Ince's corner to open the scoring.

The visitors were held at bay by the Royals in the first half.

The two Reading players who came close to extending the lead were unsuccessful.

Jon Dahl Tomasson was looking for a spark to ignite his side so he made three changes in the second half.

Joe Lumley tipped the ball over the bar, which was the best chance of an equalising goal. The goalkeeper had kept his place in the starting line-up despite a couple of howlers.

Reading continued to press and had missed a couple of chances to double their lead before Junior Hoilett smashed an unstoppable shot from a tight angle off the underside of the bar.

Ben Brereton Diaz was not able to break through the Reading back four.

Substitute Lucas Joao put the game to bed with a well worked goal from inside the box to give Reading their second league win of the season.

Even though their winning start to the season is over, they are still top of the table.
