A Pennsylvania man who was charged with threatening to kill FBI agents vowed just days before that he would not be taken into custody. He is currently in federal custody.

The Justice Department said in a Monday statement that a Pennsylvania man was charged with retaliating against a federal law enforcement official.

According to court documents reviewed by Insider, prosecutors from the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania accused 46-year-old Bies of threatening violence against law enforcement.

The FBI searched Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate on August 8.

Prosecutors said that Bies wanted to kill more of them before he died. I won't be in their custody for very long.

On August 10, prosecutors said that Bies wrote "every single piece of shit who works for the FBI in any capacity, from the director down to the janitor who cleans their toilets deserves to die" It's open season on you now that you've declared war.

The Department of Justice said that he remained in federal custody after his arrest on Friday. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

The FBI has been the target of a wave of threats since the Mar-a-Lago raid, in which agents seized a number of classified documents.

There has been an increase in violent threats against agents and their families.

An armed man tried to force his way into an FBI field office in Cincinnati after posting on social media that he wanted to attack federal agents. Outside the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC, there were barriers.
