The "Elections Center" is being rolled out by TikTok to fight misinformation.

The Elections Center will connect users with authoritative election information provided by the National Association of Secretaries of State. The Elections Center will be the first thing that pops up when users search for an election related topic. As young people are using TikTok as a search engine, this will be useful.

Videos that encourage users to think critically about the content they see online will be included in the elections center.

TikTok will add labels to content related to the elections, as well as to videos posted by politicians in the U.S.

The platform will double down on its policy of not allowing paid political advertising. More than 340,000 videos were removed from TikTok in the second half of 2020.
