"While the base iPhone will stay at the same price we believe a $100 price increase on the iPhone 14 Pro/ Pro Max is likely in store given component price increases as well as addedFunctionality on this new release," said Ives in a research note shared today.

The analyst said last week that the prices of the 14 Pro models would be more expensive than the 13 Pro models. He said that the average selling price of the entire lineup would increase by 15%.

The prices of the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max are in the U.S. If a $100 price increase is true, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will cost $1,099 and $1,199, respectively. New features/functionality and increased component prices are some of the reasons for the price increase.

A new pill-shaped cutout and hole, a faster A16 chip, an upgrade to the rear camera with support for 8K video recording, and an always-on display are rumored to be features of the next iteration of the device.

It's possible the iPhone 14 Pro will start with a larger amount of storage in order to make up for the price increase, but one analyst thinks 128GB is still possible.

In September, Apple is expected to announce the next generation of the phone.
