There have been no serious talks between the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics about a trade of Kevin Durant.

There have not been any real discussions of substance between the Nets and Celtics about KD.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, there was a firm offer for the player. The Nets turned down a package of three men.

Despite Brooklyn reportedly turning down an offer from Boston, the Durant chatter picked up again this week due to the release of a photo showing the two of them working out.

It was inevitable that observers would read into it, especially in the wake of reports that Boston made an attempt to trade for KD.

Rich Kleiman said in June that KD requested a trade out of Brooklyn. The Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns were reported to be the preferred landing spots for KD.

The offers haven't been to Brooklyn's liking yet, and the chances of the Nets keeping KD seem to have increased.

According to Brian Windhorst, the Nets would prefer to keep Durant because there were no strong offers.

Windhorst reported last week that the situation is "headed toward" KD holding out of training camp if he isn't traded by the time the season starts.

Since he signed a four-year contract extension with the Nets last year, there's no need for them to trade him if he doesn't play.

Brown is a 25-year-old guard who has one All-Star selection to his credit and is coming off a season in which he averaged 23.6 points per game.

Due to the fact that he is a four-time scoring champion, two-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP and one-time NBA Most Valuable Player, it's logical that Boston will try to sign him.

Current indications are that the two sides aren't engaging in any serious talks, despite the fact that the Celtics fell to the Warriors in the NBA Finals.
