Ultimate Ears just announced the Wonderboom 3, the latest iteration of its beloved entry-level portable speaker that promises high-quality 360-degree audio and up to 14 hours of battery life in a small package that still floats on water.
The Microboom 3 uses a Microusb connection in our good year of 2022. It feels a little lazy to carry over the same port from the Wonderboom 2 when there is a requirement for portable speakers in Europe to use the newusb-c technology.
The Wonderboom 3 offers a few improvements over the Wonderboom 2, but the price is the same. The battery life on the Wonderboom 2 has been improved by an hour and the range of the device has been increased. The extended range and battery life can help your audio to cover more ground, just like before, but only now. Ultimate Ears claims that they are made from at least 31 percent post-consumer recycled plastic.
If you were a fan of the fact that both of these older models can float in water, then you will be happy to know that the Wonderboom 3 will continue that tradition. If you want to listen to music in the shower, it will resist the jets of water.
While a few design changes were made between the original Wonderboom and the Wonderboom 2, this latest model looks similar to its predecessor, with two-tone fabric and a flat bungee cord loop.
The Wonderboom 3 speaker will be available in four different colors at launch, each with a contrasting strap and control buttons that help them stand out against the body. If you need more choices, we could see more colors hitting the market in the future.
The Wonderboom 3 looks to be a modest upgrade to the previous generation, but hey, if it ain't broke, then don't fix it. It will be available in the US and UK on August 31st.
There is a mention of MicroUSB charging.
