The Atlanta Braves agreed to an eight-year, $72 million extension with outfielder Michael Harris II on Tuesday.

Team options for 2031 and 2032 are included in the deal for Harris.

Harris was the team's top prospect and was called up to the majors in May. In 71 games, the youngest player in the majors hasn't missed a beat, hitting.287 with 12 home runs, 13 stolen bases and 39RBI.

In June, he was named NL rookies of the month and currently leads all rookies with an.825 OPS.

In recent seasons, Atlanta has locked up its young talent. The team signed third baseman Austin Riley to a 10-year, $212 million extension earlier this month, and now has other players signed through at least 2025.

The four players are all young.

First baseman Matt Olson will be with the club through the 2029 season.
