Cheney defeated Hageman on Tuesday.
Three other House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump lost their primaries.
On Tuesday evening, Donald Trump gained control of the Republican Party after Rep. Liz Cheney lost her primary.
According to projections by Decision desk HQ, Hageman defeated Cheney.
Cheney, who's held Wyoming's sole congressional seat for five years, had been Trump's main target in his plan to purge the Republican Party of disloyal members. She was one of the most vocal critics of him after she voted to impeach him. Cheney has pushed back on Trump's lies and sought to cast him as a threat to the country as vice chair of the House committee investigating the Capitol attack. Trump's biggest primary victory this year was her loss.
Trump's campaign to oust Cheney from office and her lack of support from Republicans in Wyoming made it difficult for her to retain her seat. Hageman had a double-digit lead over Cheney, according to polls.
Cheney was one of three House Republicans who voted to impeach the former president and lost their primary bids.
A member of a political dynasty as the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, the congresswoman's loss also marks the end of a long- running winning streak for the Cheneys in Wyoming. Cheney's allies think she still has a future in politics.
