Bellinger, the NL's Most Valuable Player, was benched by the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Roberts said Bellinger might not play in the last three games of the series.

Dave Roberts wanted to give him a reset. He's been working hard.

Bellinger is batting.206 with 15 homers. He started in center field Monday night against the Brewers and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Joey Gallo joined the lineup in left and Chris Taylor moved from left to center.

Roberts is hoping that Bellinger will be able to help the Dodgers in September and beyond. Los Angeles has a very good record.

Roberts said that they were counting on him.

Bellinger was the NL's Most Valuable Player two years after he won the NL's Freshman of the Year award.

Roberts said there weren't many people in the game that had that rapid ascension. It is difficult to deal with adversity over the last two and a half years. I want him to know that we're all behind him.

If he doesn't find his stroke, Roberts could use Bellinger in a platoon.

He said that at some point he would put the guys out there that would give him the best chance to win.

That's right.
