Patriots' Malcolm Butler Placed on Season-Ending IR with Undisclosed Injury

According to a report, Malcolm Butler won't be on the field for the Pats this season.

According to a report by Field Yates, the injury list for the AFC East team was put on the injured list. The Cornerback is not allowed to return this season because of the injury.

This is a sad development for the man who was in the middle of a comeback effort after retiring. He didn't suit up for the team after signing a one-year deal.

The two sides were back together after he was signed by New England.

"I feel like I have a lot to prove to myself," he said in May. I will show it to my teammates at the same time if I do it myself. I'm trying to stay focused and work hard.

He was going to be more of a depth piece than a starter.

He was benched for the Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was the hero of Super Bowl XLIX.

The West Alabama product was a member of the TennesseeTitans for three years. He had 100 tackles, 14 passes defended and four intercepts in his last season with the team.

He will have to wait until at least the next season.
