Reports say that a team of computer experts were able to break into Georgia election files.
The effort in Georgia was overseen by Sidney Powell.
The scope of the effort was revealed in documents obtained by The Washington Post.
The Washington Post reported that a group of Trump-aligned attorneys oversaw the copying of sensitive election data in at least three battleground states.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Sidney Powell helped coordinate with a team of computer experts who were able to access election data that included voter check-in computers and ballot memory cards. The group was given access to equipment that was supposed to be kept out of harms way.
According to the outlets, SullivanStrickler billed Powell more than $26,000 for its work, which included attempts to access similar election data in other states.
Powell did not reply immediately.
One day after the Capitol riot, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation opened a criminal investigation into the Coffee County break-in.
The security of Georgia's voting systems was the subject of an ongoing federal lawsuit when SullivanStrickler was subpoenaed. Emails, texts, and other records show that the endeavor was more successful than previously reported.
David Cross, a lawyer for the people in the Georgia election lawsuit, told The Post that the breach is far beyond what they thought. It's mind-blowing.
