The risk of getting filled with dust, dirt, and other debris is always present in theusb-c ports

It is easy to understand why. loose debris can be forced into the small opening if you put your phone in your pocket a lot.

If this is the case for you, you might notice that the cable doesn't work as well as it used to, or that you can't charge your phone. It is time to clean the port.

It is possible to do that without damaging your device.

Why is it important to clean a USB-C port?

Ensuring that the port stays clear of debris is important in order to make sure that the port works properly and that you don't damage your device.

There may be problems with charging or device function if the port connections are not clean.

How to properly clean a USB-C port

Do not wash your port unless you need to. You should never put metal objects like safety pins or knife blades in your device.

You will need a can of compressed air and a toothpick.

This is the first thing. The can of compressed air is the first thing you should start with. Hold the can straight up and use the straw-like attachment to blast air into the port in short, controlled bursts.

There are two Move on to a toothpick if the compressed air doesn't get rid of all the debris. If you want to thin it out, start with a knife. The toothpick is too thick for the port.

A disposable plastic dental pick is also a good choice. The pick at the end of disposable dental floss is usually thinner than a toothpick.

There are three. If you want to remove debris from the central electrical contact in the middle of the port, you need to use a dental pick or thin toothpick. If you bend or damage the electrical connection, be careful.

There are four. Blow compressed air into the port one more time to get rid of the debris you loosened with the toothpick.

How to keep your USB-C port clean in the future

You can change the way you carry or transport your device if you have problems with yourusb-c port. If you put it in your bag or pocket upside down, the port won't be driving towards dirt and debris.

A small amount of tape is applied to the port to keep it clean. You can buy a plug that you can put in the port to keep it clean.

The 10-pack of anti-dust plugs from innoGadgets is one of the many options.
