This part of the training camp schedule could be called joint practice season, as teams are linking up in greater numbers. On Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints traveled to Wisconsin to work out with the Green Bay Packers, while the New England Pats and Carolinas took on one another. The 49ers and Vikings will play each other. Along with providing the opportunity for teams to practice against one another, joint practices see spirited competition between starter and backups, which sometimes turns into fighting. Joint practices are the closest simulation of regular-season play you can get. The New York Giants are giving Tyrod Taylor some reps with the starter by choice while the New York Jets are giving Joe Flacco time with the starter out of necessity. Maybe these quarterbacks still have some value. The rest of what you need to know is here. Rodgers' patience with the Packers' young pass catchers must have expired on August 16. Rodgers expressed some frustration with the group for the first time since the loss of Davante Adams. Rodgers said that the young guys need to be more consistent. There were a lot of bad route decisions. We need to improve in that area. The frustration wasn't directed at Allen, it was directed at the other way around. It wasn't pointed at Sammy Watkins, who Rodgers said had his best day, or one of the premier slot receivers in the league. According to a source, the procedure on the right knee of the Jets quarterback was a success. According to a source, there were no surprises from the original diagnosis, and the team isn't putting a timetable on his return, but it seems to be the same as the two- to four-week range the Jets had originally envisioned. The Giants might give quarterback Tyrod Taylor some first-team snaps this summer, according to coach Brian Daboll. Taylor is the backup to Daniel Jones. "I have full confidence in Daniel, and I have full confidence in Tyrod as well," he said. Will Taylor get a few reps here or there? He could. You missed a lot of things this off-season.

The Carolinas aren't ready to name a starting quarterback, but they are ready to start Ikem Ekwonu at left tackle. The starter for Tuesday's joint practice against New England will be Ekwonu, the sixth overall pick in the 2022 draft. Matt Rhule said that they are moving forward.
Anthony Miller was placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury. In training camp, Miller showed good chemistry with quarterbackMitch Trubisky, who he played with in Chicago for three years. After the game against Seattle, Miller was seen with a brace on his shoulder and arm.
The Houston Texans voided a trade with the Dolphins after tight end Adam Shaheen failed a physical because of a knee injury. The organization is 100% supportive of his decision to have surgery after getting more opinions on his knee, according to the coach.
Joe Flacco delivered his best performance in his third practice as the Jets' temporary quarterback. He completed 14 of 17 passes and hit 10 in a row at one point. He had a frozen rope that showed he still has a fastball. Flacco throws "receiver-friendly" passes because he takes some pace off the ball on certain routes, according to the wide receiver. A lot of experience is required.
With five practices remaining in training camp, including combined practices against the Dallas Cowboys over the next two days, All-Pro safety Derwin James Jr is still holding out. James is due for a contract extension at the end of the fifth and final season of his first contract. If a deal is done, James will be ready for the season, despite having the end of training camp within sight, according to the coach. "I don't worry about him." "He has more pride in his performance and his ability to be in shape, mentally and physically, to do the job at the highest level than anyone else." When this happens, Derwin is going to be ready. A constant presence on the sideline is maintained by James, who continues to participate in walk- throughs and agility drills.

The competition for the starting quarterback job in Tuesday's joint practice against New England wasn't much different from the one before it. He only completed one of his first six attempts in the drills. In his last series, he was 3-for-10. He did complete a pass of more than 45 yards to DJ Moore that got the fans excited, and had another big pass to Christian McCaffrey that turned heads. His progress on the field has not been overshadowed by his boisterous personality. I've not been surprised by it. Coach Matt Rhule said he was impressed with the demeanor of the player. He has a natural feel for learning and how quickly it happens. DavidNewton said that he does a nice job.
Dallas Goedert is getting hotter. Goedert had his most productive day of training camp after scoring a touchdown in the preseason opener. During 7-on-7s, Hurts hit him with three straight completions, the last one over the middle for the touchdown. After faking the handoff, Hurts found Goedert in the end zone. They celebrated by skiing in the air.
A lot of attention has been given to his kicking accomplishments, but he made his mark on defense on Tuesday. During a team period, the starting safety picked off two passes. In front of Kelce, Reid cut in front of him to make one of the two picks. The defense did a better job in Monday's practice than it did in the previous one. It was good news for Steve Spagnuolo, who has said the Chiefs were racing the clock to be ready for the regular season with their many new players. The defense recently added two significant players, with the return from injury of third corner and the signing of Danny Shelton.

Jamin Davis didn't make much of a difference in his first season. He has started to look like he could help this season. Davis forced an incompletion, stopped the running back in the hole, and picked off a tipped ball during practice Tuesday. In the preseason opener, he did a good job. Davis plays his best when he is close to the line of scrimmage, which will allow him to read less and be more aggressive. Davis needs to improve his defense during the regular season.
After an off-season that didn't go his way, Ravens safety Chuck Clark is having a good training camp. Clark knocked the ball away from the All- Pro tight end in the end zone. Clark is the only defender who has been able to repeat his success against Andrews. Clark's role on the defense was in question after Baltimore added two big-name safeties and drafted Kyle Hamilton. Clark could force the Ravens to put safeties on the field.
The Bills held their first training camp practice at their facility in New York. The wide receiver came down with a catch on a perfect pass in the middle of the field. In the win over the Colts, Shakir caught all five of his targets for 92 yards. Ken said that he has been on top of things from a mental point of view.
He put his best foot forward and we felt like he came out and competed. As a first time wide receiver in this offense, there are very few mental errors. I do not believe he had any. He was near the stuff. We were looking forward to continuing to progress with him.
One of the highlights of the joint practice between the New England and Carolina teams was when C James Ferentz was tossed in a separate mini-tussle for his part in the melee. He said that if the ball is in the area, he is the one to blame. He said that 80-20 balls are more suited to him.
You can win up to $10,000 if you pick the win totals for all the teams.

Schwartz had his best practice of training camp. Schwartz dropped a touchdown pass in the first practice of Tuesday's practice. Schwartz came back with a diving touchdown catch near the pylon. Schwartz might be pressing too much. Schwartz is being counted on to play a key role in the wide receiver corps.
The Falcons have been working Oliver, who had been their starting nickel corner last season until he tore anACL against Washington, at safety. It's not a position switch, but more cross-training by the Falcons to make sure they use him there in the future. Arthur Smith said they cross-trained a few players throughout camp to prepare for various packages. Oliver said he's hoping to get rid of the brace he's been wearing in the next two weeks. He wants to be ready for the first week of the season. Smith wouldn't say whether or not that's the goal, but he said he's glad that's the case.
