It was a surprise. I will be back for two days before I leave again Thursday. Sweden is a great place to live and take a four week summer vacation.
Jake helped me put together some news, but he did not like all of it.
I'll be at the movement next week. Let me know if you will be there as well.
There has been a decrease in the number of Latino people listening to the show.
According to a new report, the number of Latino Americans listening to podcasts has stopped growing. There was a large demand for Spanish-language content.
Thirty-six percent of Hispanics in the US listen to podcasts monthly, a 44 percent increase from the year before, according to a report. The percentage went down to 34 percent. When researchers looked back at the beginning of the year, they found that there had been a decrease in the number of listens. As post-pandemic habits evolve, this dip may be temporary.
59 percent of those surveyed said they have listened to a podcasts before, up three points from the previous year It is not as high as last year's six-point increase.
Growing listening to Spanish-language content could be done better. A third of the people said they had listened to a Spanish-language show. It isn't always easy to find a Spanish-language podcasts in the US, according to the community manager at libsyn. A majority of survey participants said they preferred to see ads in both English and Spanish.
Respondents were asked which Latino music artists they would most like to have a show with. The number one spot went to Shakira with 44 percent of the vote. People, let it go.
Jake, thank you!
The advertising reach of the company has been beefed up.
The company has been on a buying spree and is looking to expand in Europe. According to the company, Julep Media is Germany's largest independent platform for podcasts advertising. Julep will be combined with AdvertiseCast to help the service grow. The price wasn't announced. Julep's leadership team will stay on board for at least three years, and the CEO will take an expanded role in support of AdvertiseCast's international growth.
I am more interested in the broad strokes of the deal than the details. In an effort to build a large presence in podcasting advertising, libsyn has been acquiring companies. The company bought a company. The purchase of a platform that offers self-serve ad buying seems to have been the starting point for a lot of what is to come. In November of 2021, it bought parts of Podgo, an ad sales company, and in February of 2022. The two were folded into the show. Since the original acquisition, there has been a doubling of the number of podcasts on the network.
QCode is going to be real.
QCode is branching out from high-touch, star- studded shows. The production company announced on Monday that it is starting with three shows: a true crime show, a relationship advice show, and an improvised show. A pop culture show and a science series about animal attacks will be added to the network.
This is a big change for QCode and seems to indicate a different approach to building intellectual property. These shows don't star big names, whereas QCode's scripted fiction includes actors likeBrian Cox, Chlo Grace Moretz, and Gina Rodriguez. Matthew McConaughey is playing a dog on a Q Code show. We are definitely going to listen.
Comment sections are turned into parts of the show.
A new approach to user comments is being tested by the service. The app now has the ability to respond to music in the app with a recording, which will be posted as a podcasts. Adding music to the clip is possible.
I don't think this will make for the most coherent comment section, but I do like the possibilities here. It would be great if this could be used to allow hosts to get feedback on an episode of the show. I'm just speculating at the moment. The feature is limited at the moment and there is no guarantee that it will be expanded. The feature is currently available in Vietnam.
Today is all for that. Next week, we will see you all at the Dallas episode of the podcast movement. I would like to speak with the person who made the decision.
