The Washington Post reports that a Turkish black bear got its paws on a treat that was hallucinogenic and sent it on a bad trip.

The substance is produced by bees after they feed on the flower pollen. The neurotoxin can cause a variety of bodily responses.

The video shows a confused bear sitting on the back of a truck, seemingly questioning its life choices.

The animal was saved by the veterinarians.

"Balkiz's health condition is good, we will leave her living space as soon as possible," read an update by the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Honeypot

The "mad honey" is not the first to be tasted. Greek soldiers are said to have killed themselves after defeating the Persians in 400 BC.

Bryant said that they decided to feast on the honey that had been stolen. By the next day the effects had dissipated and the troops were on their way to Greece.

The Greeks were unable to fight after eating the honey that the Persians set a trap for, according to Bryant.

According to The Guardian, the honey is rare and sought after for its purported health benefits. Some people in Turkey want to use it for fun.

The lesson learned by Balkiz is simple.

Turkey's minister of agriculture and forestry, Vahit Kirisci, said that she should eat everything in moderation.

There is a video of a bear getting high on hallucinogenic'mad honey'.

This virtual reality experience is similar to tripping on acid.
