The Space Force was created less than three years ago, and is now in charge of military satellite ground stations.

The Space Force is the sixth branch of the U.S. military devoted to demonstrating national dominance in space.

The transfer took effect on August 15th. The Space Force's Space Delta 8, the unit responsible for satellite communications, will be the new home of 15 global units with 319 military and 259 civilian personnel from the Army and Navy. Space Delta 8 is in charge of the Wideband Global Satcom and Defense Satellite Communications System, a constellation of military communication satellites, as well as the Global positioning System constellation for both military and civilian users. The military operated these satellites for decades.

The Space Force received a portion of the army's budget to cover the cost of operating the satellite ground stations. The deputy chief of space operations for operations, cyber and nuclear said in a statement that they need to create a unified effort around their space missions. When I was a lieutenant or captain in space, the space domain was much more open.

The military isn't completely out of the satellite game. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, part of the department of defense for military research, is working on a plan to standardize communication between satellites. Space technology is being looked into by the U.S. Army.

The Space Force was created in December of last year as a military branch for the final frontier. Though it hasn't happened yet, this so-called'spacepower' seems to be preparing for a bleak future that involves the militarization of space as more countries set out for missions to the Moon and beyond. There are no clear laws on the distribution of resources in space because they are more valuable than on Earth.

There are two military satellites communicating with each other using space lasers.
