Laura Ingraham said a conflict-weary nation may be ready to move on from the former president.

She said it was time to look for someone with Trump's politics, but not the baggage, if he decided to run again.

She told Lisa Boothe that she thought the country was so tired. Maybe it is time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all of Trump's policies.

"We'll see whether that's what the country wants, but Trump has been a friend for 25 years."

A clear path to the GOP nomination is shown in the polls. More than half of Republicans want someone else at the top of the ticket according to a recent poll. A majority of voters don't want Trump to run again.

A number of Fox News hosts have supported Trump publicly, and were alarmed behind the scenes on January 6, 2021. The House select committee found a series of text messages in which Ingraham urged the White House to have Trump make a statement about the Capitol attack.

She said that the president needed to tell people in the Capitol to leave. All of us are hurt by this. His legacy is being destroyed.

The attack was denounced by Ingraham on TV. She said that left-wing elements may have been behind it.
