Even as his army continues to struggle in its invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged his foreign allies to purchase arms from Russia.
At the International Military-Technical Forum in Moscow, Putin said that Russia is ready to give its allies and partners cutting-edge weapons.
He said that military professionals value these weapons for their high efficiency and reliability. All of them have been in combat before.
The Russian leader didn't mention any specific type of weapon or system but made reference to the war in Ukraine and spoke of how Russian "weaponry makers" were helping Moscow's forces.
The T-90 tank, which Moscow says is one of the world's best tanks but has struggled to help the Kremlin gain in-roads in the invasion, is one of the high-profile weapons Russia has deployed. The latest advanced version of the tank has been destroyed in Ukraine.
Russia began to use its Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles for the first time in March.
According to the UK's defense ministry, the Kinzhal is an air-launched version of the Iskander missile that Russia has been using in Ukraine.
The ministry said in March that Russian claims of using the Kinzhal are likely to detract from progress in the ground campaign.
The US and Europe have imposed sanctions on Russia. Russia has been the world's second largest arms exporter for years, behind the US.
According to Russian media, Sergei Chemezov, the head of the state-owned arms conglomerate, said that Russian weapons sales had not been affected by the war in Ukraine.
He said his company had signed contracts with foreign countries worth $16 billion this year, on par with previous years.
In his speech, Putin praised his country's friendly relationships with Latin American, Asian, and African states.
The Moscow forum was attended by representatives from 37 countries. The showcase had officers from nations such as Uganda and Vietnam.
