More than 2 million MamaRoo baby swings and RockaRoo rockers are being recalled due to strangulation risks.
4moms said in a statement on Monday that the restraint straps on the swings and rockers can dangle below the seat if the products are not used.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, a 10-month-old infant died from asphyxiation after getting caught in a MamaRoo strap. A 10-month-old baby was rescued by a person but had injuries to his neck. No reports have been made about the RockaRoo.
"Consumers with infants who can crawl should immediately stop using the recalled swings and rockers and place them in an area where crawling infants can't get to."
In the US, 220,000 RockaRoo rockers have been sold. More than one million MamaRoos and RockaRoos have been sold in Canada.
Gary Waters, CEO of 4moms, said in a statement to Insider that they were "deeply sad" by the two incidents. 4moms decided to conduct a voluntary recall after they investigated the circumstances behind the incidents.
