Lincoln High School student arrested after taking out gun during on-campus altercation

A student at Lincoln High School was taken into custody after he took out a gun and was being subdued. There is a Monday.

Staff were informed of an incident on the campus. The police chief said it was a big fight.

Several students had a fight during lunch. The staff broke up the fight and then there was a second fight. The student who was taken to the ground had a loaded gun in his pants.

The officer pushed the gun to the ground to disarm the student.

Students who usually run toward a fight to watch instead ran away when there was noise like a fight, someone at the scene said. It made sense that people were running away after being told about the gun.

The student was taken into custody and was going to be sent to a juvenile hall. In a message to parents, the principal said that students were escorted to safe locations.

She said that the issues had been resolved and that the rest of the day would be normal.

The cause of the fight was being investigated by officials.
