Carl Nassib, a free agent defensive end, agreed to a one-year contract with the Buccaneers.

Nassib played in 13 games for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021.

The most productive part of the 29-year-old's career was when he was a member of the Buccaneers.

The head coach of the team had some experience working with Nassib.

Pierre-Paul was not re-signed by the Bucs. The three-time Pro Bowler was coming off a mediocre season in which he had 2.5 sacks and 3 tackles for loss.

If the plan was to lean on Gill more in the future, then it was a problem when he injured his foot in the preseason game.

With Week 1 less than a month away, it was necessary to add another pass-rusher.

Nassib's previous stint with the team made him a good fit to strengthen the depth off the edge.
