John Fetterman accused Mehmet Oz of being a "penny-pinching common man with highbrow tastes" after a resurfaced video showed Oz visiting a grocery store.
The video, originally posted in April, shows Oz, who is campaigning against Fetterman in Pennsylvania, walking through a store's vegetable section to help his wife.
Fetterman, whose campaign has worked to mock the former TV doctor as an out-of-touch celebrity, took a shot at his word selection and went for it.
Fetterman joked that the tray was called a veggie tray in his home state of Pennsylvania.
In the video, Oz tells viewers what store he is at, but scrambles the names of two supermarkets, Redner's and Wegmans.
He thought he would do some grocery shopping but ended up at Wegner's. He buys a tub of salsa for $6 and a tub of guacamole for $4. The salsa is $5
This doesn't include the tequila, that's $20 for crudités." He seems to blame the president for inflation, which has been seen around the world.
Fetterman and Oz have been exchanging barbs on social media, with Oz releasing a campaign ad that shows a bong emerging from Fetterman's head.
Fetterman has accused Oz of actually living in New Jersey, not Pennsylvania, and has recruited New Jersey musician-actor Steven Vanzant and former "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi to help support his cause.
