Warner Bros. Discovery is cutting some jobs.

Some jobs have been eliminated at Warner Bros. Discovery, though not as much as had been rumored. According to Variety, Warner Bros. Discovery is cutting around 14 percent of staff, or about 70 jobs, that had been under the control of the chief content officer of the two premium cable channels.

Batgirl was put on hold by Warner Bros. Discovery and several other films were pulled from the service. Following the completion of WarnerMedia and Discovery's merger, some of the positions have been eliminated. The reality arm of Discovery will be in charge of programming for the combined service that will replace the two existing services.

Variety and CNBC report that the business affairs team is one of the affected teams. A request for comment was not replied to by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Warner Bros. will be competing in streaming. The Paramount Plus Essential tier will be bundled with Walmart's Plus subscription. Last week, Disney announced that it would be introducing an ad-supported tier of Disney Plus and that it would be getting steep price hikes. It won't have everything at launch but it is working on an ad supported tier.
