Florida is known for its offbeat felonies, swamp weather, Disney adults, and Trump's recently raided home, Mar-a-Lago.

The warm weather and lack of state income tax make the state a good place to live. It has welcomed more high-earners than any other state. The report looked at the pre-pandemic net migration patterns for households earning over $200,000 a year.

A net influx of 20,263 high-income households was created by many more people moving in than leaving.

Texas has warm weather and no income taxes. Most of the top 10 states are in the Sunbelt. Two other states, Tennessee and Nevada, don't have state income taxes. The high earning migrants were looking for a more affordable cost of living.

The list identifies pre-pandemic trends by analyzing tax returns that represent income earned and locations moved to in the year before.

The migration patterns that were happening in the 2010s were caused by the Pandemic. The rise of remote work made it possible for employees to move away from big cities to cheaper ones. According to an Upwork survey, nearly 5 million Americans have relocated due to remote work in the last two years.

Some of the biggest gains have been seen in Florida and Texas. Florida may have gotten some new residents who joined the Great Resignation by retiring early during the Pandemic. Some people went back to their jobs as money grew tight due to inflation.

Wall Street bankers and Silicon Valley entrepreneurs moved to the southeastern part of the state. The latter have found an ally in the mayor of Miami.

The campaign to be the next center for tech is one of the trends that has accelerated. He said that Miami is going through a renaissance.

It might be time to forget Italy and Portugal since Florida is a much shorter flight away.
