The show will premiere on Friday, October 14. Gregory David Roberts' 2003 novel of the same name is the basis for the movie "Shantaram".
A character named Lin is a convict who escapes from an Australian prison and goes to Bombay. Lin's journey takes him through a society of criminals in India.
"Pacific Rim" and "Sons of Anarchy" actor Charlie Hunnam is set to play the main character in a new film.
"Shantaram" follows a fugitive named Lin Ford (Hunnam) looking to get lost in vibrant and chaotic 1980s Bombay. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he's running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it.
There will be a new episode every Friday through December 16. The episodes are in chronological order.
