A stock exchange filing shows that Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding Company invested over 500 million dollars in Russian energy companies.

One of Saudi Arabia's highest profile companies is mostly owned by a prince. Saudi Arabia's wealth fund has a large stake in the company.

There were transactions into Russian energy companies on Sunday.

The company invested a total of 1.37 billion Saudi riyals, or $365 million, in the two Russian companies. The dates were not given.

The company invested 410 million riyals in the oil company. As the US and the European Union intensified sanctions against Russia, it was still putting money into the energy company.

Chinese tech giants, as well as Australian mining giant, are some of the companies Kingdom holdings has invested in this year.

Over 12 billion riyals have been invested in the last four years.

Saudi Arabia is the leader of the group of countries known as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. The energy minister said in June that relations with Russia were as good as the weather in Riyadh.
