Tonight's episode of Tales of The Walking Dead has a version that I might have liked. The writers of the episode were a little bit more talented. The story of Joe and Evie was worth telling.

This is a story? I can't believe it was greenlit in the beginning. It had its moments, but not all of them. The good moments only highlight what a waste the rest of the show was. Let's begin in the spirit of optimism.

This episode was enjoyable at times. I wouldn't have minded if he'd gotten a few more excuses to show off his strength, he's an incredibly likeable human who looks more like a hugger than a fighter.

I felt like I was watching Terry of Brooklyn Nine-Nine in tonight's episode rather than a man named Joe. I joked that the entire episode would have been funnier if they had cast Joe lo Truglio, who plays Charles Boyle on 99) instead of Olivia Munn.

I agree with that statement. A more comical duo would have made this episode a lot more fun, as her character was boring and uninteresting.

I liked the serial killer Bunker lady. It was a fun spin on the idea of being careful who you meet online, with some good action and some good laughs. This isn't how pot brownies work.

The Goofy

When Joe shows up, he is given a big old pot brownie, and pretty soon he is drugged out of his mind.

A strong pot brownie can get you very, very hot. Being high on marijuana isn't the same as being high on narcotics. It doesn't stop your limbs from working Things are blurry and out of focus. It is not how it is that Joe is ready for surgery by the time he is halfway through his brownies.

It doesn't kick in that quickly. Smoking Mary Jane isn't the same as eating it. It can take a long time to get into your system. It can be a strong high, but you won't feel it for a while. You are not going to be at the mercy of a small woman when you are the same size as Terry crews. It isn't realistic or plausible.

Everyone thinks pot brownies work in the writer's room. We have to keep an eye on Joe as he is easily knocked out by Sandy, who tries to do the same thing to Evie when she arrives. Evie is a cannabisTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkia

Evie knows that she has been lying all along. Kick to the side of the face. But we know that won't be enough, and as she tries to free Joe, he grabs a nearby clever and throws it into her chest, downing the psycho.

I enjoyed that part as well. They leave the well-stocked and fortified Bunker to take advantage of the safety and bounty it provides. Is there a reason?

The Bad

In this episode of Tales of The Walking Dead, there was a lot of trite dialogue. I had to try not to vomit after Evie and Joe talked for so long.

The voice-overs were similar when Joe was reading through the chat logs that he and his wife had with one another before the zombie apocalypse. One month after her husband's death, she showed so much interest in him that the red flags should have started to pop up.

They killed Gilligan immediately. That is just a cheap shot and a low blow.

This was an episode with virtually no stakes, almost no tension, and a scene in which Joe leaves his motorcycle running for no reason while Evie calls him into a warehouse for no reason. She would like to show him something in the chat logs that she found, but she could have done it outside. The bike is taken. It doesn't make a difference to the plot. They get where they are on foot in the same amount of time they would have spent on the bike.

Did he fix those flat tires?

There was a baby goat. I think it made it's way from the office of the Lumen to the show. People like goats. The goat made me like it. This episode was not very well thought out. Why did it take so long? What is it that will further the story of The Walking Dead? The point was not known.

They should have made a roll with the flavor. We were left with an episode that didn't know what it was going to be. There is a roadtrip buddy story. Are you talking about comedy? Is there a serial killer thrillers? Sappy is an inspiring pablum. The idea of a grab bag of ideas rolled into a monster with no narrative substance and only the charm of Terry crews to sustain it.

Do not advise. I hope the rest of the anthological episodes are better because this was a swing and a miss. Well. What were you thinking?
