At least 50 people have died in Sudan due to flooding, and the worst may not be over, according to a report yesterday.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that around 38,000 people have been affected by the water in the East African country. There have been 25 injuries this year.

Further completion of an infrastructure project downstream may make the situation worse.

If Sudan wants to help its people survive a warming climate, it will need to fight another obstacle.

Sudan and Egypt are worried about the potential flooding of the Blue Nile dam, which is being completed by Ethiopia. Anadolu Agency reported last year that 50 people died when the second filling was done.

How many more Sudanese communities will be affected by floods and how long can they survive?

The experts say that strip mining made the flooding worse.
