Due to increased travel demand to and from Mauritius, there will be additional evening frequencies to the island nation by the end of the year. The existing 2X daily flight to the island nation will be replaced by a third daily flight operated by the A380.
During one of the busiest travel seasons, the flights will provide added support to the tourism industry by increasing seat capacity by over 30%.
The Chairman and Chief Executive of the group thanked the authorities of the country for considering their request to operate a third daily flight. The extra seats will allow us to bring in more visitors from across the network and accommodate rising demand. The government has a goal of hosting more than one million tourists by June 23, 2023.
The airline said in a statement on Wednesday that it is investing $2 billion to improve its inflight customer experience. The redesign of the interiors of 120 aircraft is one of the improvements. The new vegan menu, cabin interior upgrades, sustainable choices and a generous approach to the little touches that make travel memorable are some of the things passengers can look forward to, according to the company.
"Emirates is flying against the grain and investing to deliver ever better experiences to our customers," said Sir Tim Clark, president of the airline. Digital initiatives to improve customer experiences on the ground are just one of the new services and initiatives we have launched. We are rolling out a series of intensive programs to make the inflight experience even better.
New, first-of-a-kind Premium Economy cabins will be installed.
The airline said that planning work and trials have begun with the first aircraft scheduled to roll into the engineering centre in November.
Fresh produce from the world's largest Hydroponic farm will be given to passengers on flights.
