Last week, a US-based electric vehicle subscription startup announced it would order a total of 23,000 electric vehicles.

The order cost more than a billion dollars, and was won byTesla. The 4,300 electric vehicles ordered by Autonomy will cost less than $450 million. 1.2 percent of all electric vehicles made in the US will be affected by the Autonomy order, according to a report.

It may cause Musk to be a little worried. Musk predicted some limitations when he was asked what he thought of the order.

Musk said that production is a bigger challenge than demand.

Trouble In Paradise

Musk is correct.

The chip shortage is causing vehicle production delays. There are other supply chain shortages that could affect auto makers on the list.

Musk is in a hard place even though it isn't his fault. He had to sell off almost $7 billion of his stock in the company to avoid a $1 billion fee for not buying the social networking site.

It's not clear how much the service will cost. It's success and increased EV adoption are dependent on our ability to make cars.

There is more on Musk's antics.
