According to a former homeland security adviser, she once found classified documents in the ladies' room.

Troye, who served as homeland security and counterterrorism adviser to the vice president, shared the anecdote on MSNBC.

Troye found classified information in the ladies' room of the White House. I was not expecting to see that document in the ladies' room.

The FBI executed a raid at the Mar-a-Lago estate. The documents were taken from the Florida property by the agency.

Troye told Insider that she found the documents in the bathroom and thought it was odd that someone forgot them.

She said on MSNBC that she immediately reported the classified documents to security but that it would worry anyone with a security clearance.

Troye said that he remembers the panic. There is a blood pressure rise in you where you pick it up, and you're wondering what to do with it.

It was known that her colleagues didn't handle documents well.

Troye said that people used to carry documents around in a pouch and lock it up. "That was not the norm in the White House, and I think there were many instances where you would see this kind of behavior."

According to reports, the FBI believed that Trump had presidential records. According to the Washington Post, investigators were looking for secret documents.

Troye said that people with clearances have a responsibility to protect information. You don't keep it in an unclassified facility for a long period of time.

She said that it doesn't matter what it says. If information gets into the wrong hands, it could put lives at risk.
