After the FBI searched Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate for classified documents, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said fellow GOP members need to pull back on casting judgement.

The host of CNN's "State of the Union" asked if Trump and some Republicans put the lives of the FBI's men and women at risk.

The FBI is included in law enforcement if the GOP is going to support it. Federal law enforcement agencies that I work with include the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the US attorney's office. The rule of law is very important to the Republican Party and to our democracy.

The FBI is involved in that. We need to stop casting judgement on them. Higher ups in the FBI have made mistakes. It is done by them. I've defended cases of my own. Wrong actions have been seen by me.

In a statement on Friday, Trump disputed news reports of the FBI's findings.

It was all declassified." They did not need to "seize" anything. They could have had it whenever they wanted. There was an additional lock put on it. They were able to have it whenever they wanted for a long time. All they had to do was follow the instructions.

The FBI's move was met with backlash from members of the GOP who are aligned with Trump. Hutchinson said on Sunday that the FBI was doing their job and that it was important to support them.

We can't say that they weren't doing their job when they searched. If you want to hold people accountable, it's the Department of Justice. The attorney general oversaw that. The FBI is carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with the law.

Let's support police officers. Stand with them. He said "whether it's the FBI or your local law enforcement." We need to do that because they're trying to keep anarchy away from our country.
