Adam Rossington hit the fastest fifty in The Hundred as London Spirit easily beat Northern Superchargers.

Rossington took just 15 balls to pass 50, two less balls than the previous record set by the Superchargers.

Rossington had clubbed three fours and seven sixes.

Australia's Glenn Maxwell hit 43 off 25 balls to lead the win with 18 balls to spare.

After a slow start on a turning pitch, the Superchargers were unable to set a good target.

Captain Faf du Plessis hit 56 off 35 balls and a late flurry from Adam Hose with 30 off 14 took them to 143-5, but fireworks from Rossington and Maxwell doomed them to their third defeat in a row.

The Northern Superchargers won their first game of the competition and then lost to London Spirit in the second game.

Australia's Beth Mooney was run out for 30 by a teammate of hers, the keeper catching the ball and flicking it into the ground.

The Superchargers squeezed the Spirit and the hosts held their nerve to win by five runs, despite an impressive 39 from Luff.

Alice Davidson-Richards took 2-20 from her 20 balls.

The Superchargers made 127-4. After her side had fallen to 37-2 after 40 balls, it was a well-paced counter- attack.

She swept brilliantly and shared 70 with South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt, who later pulled off a run out from the boundary.

Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Adams helped Southern Brave maintain their perfect start to The Hundred with a 12-run victory over defending champion Oval Invincibles.

Mandhana was in top form, scoring an elegant 46 from 25 balls, to get the Brave off to a rapid start before she was dismissed.

Adams and Kemp put on 45 to help the Brave recover from 103-5 to post 153-8.

Sophia Smale took two-12 from her 20 balls for the Invincibles.

The Invincibles, who were without the injured Alice Capsey, started their chase well, giving them hope of a second straight win on the bounce, but their hopes were dashed when Lauren Winfield-Hill was dismissed for 25.

Marizanne Kapp was dismissed by Adams and he finished with figures of 2-16.
