Metaverse is defined as a hypothetical iteration of the Internet as a single, universal andImmersive virtual world that isFacilitated by the use of virtual reality and augmented reality headsets.

I apologize if I'm wrong, but hasn't the term "cyberspace" defined the same concept since "Burning Chrome" was written in 1982? You need to check your Wikis again. The online world is referred to as a world by the popular concept of cyberspace, which dates back from the first ten years of the internet.

Is it not obvious that instead of plugging a stereo jack into the back of our heads we are using goggles and phones?

The term metaverse could be used to describe the reality of a digital multiverse. What is the difference? There is a virtual version of the fight for market dominance that has been going on between Apple and Microsoft. There is a need for a way for the metaverses to work together.

These small digital ecosystems will need to be designed with protocols on board that allow them to communicate and operate with each other in a singular metaverse. Users need to open the door of their virtual office in one metaverse to move into another, where their favorite game or bank is located. What will those protocols look like? Who will write them and how?

There will be more than one way to access the various metaverses with the advent of 5G. The different charging cables that prevent one brand of laptop from connecting to another brand will inevitably be as relevant as these methods are. The development of the associated workforce to implement these protocols is of paramount importance. When 50 branded metaverses compete to provide the same services with wildly varying results, it will not be five or 10 years down the road.

This is how you think of it. Passwords, security questions, and/or one-time text message codes are required to use Web2 platforms. The Web2 world is password driven. The future of web3 and the metaverses will be driven by the ledger. Do we really want to log in again and again in the middle of changing metaverses? Do we want to just be recognized once and have those credentials with us wherever we go? choke points will result if we don't have the right framework in place.

Basic concepts and capabilities should be examined with the wide range of possibilities in cyberspace. Many of the same questions and problems need to be addressed as I contrast the work I have done with the work I have done with virtual reality.

How will they be managed? Metaverses will almost certainly have the look and feel of video games, so what kind of programming knowledge will be required? The skill sets are in high demand. The metaverses may need a completely new data transport architecture.

Artificial intelligence systems and open-sourced platforms are also being considered. New technologies will fit within the multiple metaverses. Is the current industry high-density compute platforms up to the job? Is it necessary for serious innovation and advancement in compute power. What does quantum mean in this picture? How will the two technologies work together? You can share your new NFT on your cell phone, but it won't be as good as the one in the game.

The challenges may feel like they're impossible. They will need an enormous investment into the development of integrated metaverse architecture. It is definitely true. The lift needed here doesn't seem greater than other hurdles we've overcome in technology and systems, so all I have to do is think about the many computing epochs I've already seen come and go in my working life.

Consider the fax machine. The internet reached global scale after Windows for Workgroup provided the first large-scale ability to connect users. The rise ofSmartphones and the millions of apps they support followed. After a rise in bot technology and other new computing paradigms, we see the emergence of a globalBlockchain technology movement, with mass adoption of its ideas, protocols, and products.

Past lessons have laid out the punch list needed to make the rise of the metaverses an amazing event. We need to be smart enough to know that our freedom in the virtual world won't equal our freedom in the real world, and we need to make sure that happens.
