Day Shift is available to watch on the internet.

Day Shift is a violent romp through the vampire clichés. Are you talking about garlic? Check to see if it's true. Is it aversion to the sun? Check to see if it's true. With a sun-drenched twist on the formula, director J.J.Perry takes a well-worn genre and puts it up to eleven.

There is a pool boy named Bud. He is actually a vampire hunter and plumbing the depths of LA. The City of Angels is home to a lot of vile, sinister bloodsuckers.

There is no ordinary vampire hunter. He was kicked out of the union for a long list of violations. He has to shift his trophy from the back-alley merchants to the one he killed the vampire in. He is going to make some feathers soon.

Day Shift plays up every over-the-top fight scene with gory extravagance, and it is more from dusk till dawn than interview with the vampire. Day Shift shows off some of the most intense vampire fights you will see on screen, and it is based on a true story. There's a line between wise-cracking smartass and genuinely ingenious vampire hunter, and that's what Foxx walks in the movie. His gadgets are low-tech, but they work. His targets are softened by garlic grenades before he shoots them with mpingo wood.

The little touches elevate Day Shift to something more. There's clearly been a lot of thought put into the action here, and Perry should be proud of how he's taken an age-old genre and revitalized it with simple twists

A blue-collar working dad tries to keep his identity secret from his ex- wife and daughter. Day Shift is elevated from a trashy, vampire-slaughtering popcorn flick to one with far more heart than you first realize because of the inherent conflict between his home and work life. It seems like there is more to unpack.

Both Foxx and Snoop Dogg get some great one-liners, with other memorable moments going to Franco’s cringe-inducing Seth.

That's right.

The socio-economic landscape of L.A. is something Day Shift has a lot to say about. Bud has experience and sheer bloody-mindedness, even though they have a dental plan and expensive suits.

Dave Franco hams it up as the feeble, constantly terrifiedSeth, who is more of a hindrance than any kind of help. The chemistry between the pair is brilliant, as Bud takes the role of a reluctant mentor to a union rep who is supposed to be reporting back on his moves. Day Shift becomes a vampire buddy cop movie with Franco and Foxx becoming the vampire-slaughtering odd couple. Things will get evenwilder with the addition of Big J.

The best vampire movies of all time.

Some of the best one-liners go to Franco and the other one-liners go to the other two. The action scenes are larger than the laughs. There are some really unique moments in the film. The bullet-time slow-mo which sees one brother fling a single bullet across the room into the chamber of the other brother's pistol is pretty amazing. It's crazy. Absolutely ridiculous. It is an absolute pleasure to watch.

Day Shift is a film that knows what it is. It isn't an Oscar winner, but with a fun take on an interesting storyline, you'll find the film has a lot to offer.

Something unique is brought to the table by Day Shift. It isn't a straight-up vampire movie, with a lot more going on beneath the blood-spattering faade. A group of people tear down a Los Angeles that is cruel and twisted. The story is a bit light and straightforward, but Day Shift makes up for it with some great fight scenes and heroes. Even though he is not the best pool boy in the world, he is a decent vampire hunter and an even better father. He'll be rooting for you all the time. Day Shift is loud, fun, and full of gory vampire action, so it's perfect for the streets of L.A.
