One of the biggest hits of Dreamworks is the movie Kung Fu Panda. The series has continued through various shows and specials. The Dragon Knight was the most recent one to premiere on the streaming service. Not content with just releasing TV spinoffs of their film franchises, Dreamworks has decided to bring the franchise back to theaters in two years.
The film is currently scheduled for a March 8, 2024 release. Jack Black reprises his role as Po, a panda who becomes a martial arts master and returns to his family after many years. The trilogy has earned over $1 billion at the box office. Dreamworks has been cagey about the future of the franchise. In 2010, before the release of Kung Fu Panda 2, then-CEO of Dreamworks Animation Jeffrey Katzenberg said the franchise had been mapped for two trilogies: a "student" trilogy and a "master" trilogy.
The approach for the films was to take it one film at a time according to the directors. Carloni said that they don't want the films to be open-ended. We want it to be a pleasurable experience. Nelson said that she viewed the series as a single trilogy. She said the Pull was Po. The world is known asPo. I am certain that something will happen, but I don't know what.
A new film is coming out relatively soon and that is reason enough to get excited.
