The father of a contestant on "The Bachelor" can't access his retirement savings because it was all stored in a now-frozencryptocurrencies wallet.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the Shallcross family invested in the company after being pushed by their son.
The elder Shallcross put his savings into the Celsius coin wallet when he retired from his job as the captain of the fire department. When the Celsius Network froze more than $4 billion in assets, it turned out that the investment was not safe at all.
He told the LA Times thatCelsius was not a good place to put his coin.
He was part of a larger group. Shallcross is one of nearly 1.7 million people around the world who are locked out of their money.
Shallcross Senior put $400,000 into Celsius and intended to let it appreciate for five to seven years before he withdrew it.
He told the newspaper that he just wanted access to his digital currency. Celsius promised that I would be able to pull it off.
The report states that Celsius is currently under investigation in five states and with a likely New York probe pending, it seems that the elder Shallcross won't be able to access his nest egg anytime soon.
The father of a contestant on the show is locked up in a bankrupt lender.
Iran just made a $10 import order using digital currency.
