DoorDash may be able to pick up and deliver your purchases from Facebook. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Facebook is partnering with DoorDash to deliver items up to 15 miles away.

Some items are ineligible for delivery. DoorDash only delivers items that are small enough to fit in the trunk of a car, and drivers are expected to make deliveries within 48 hours, according to sources. It seems like it would be a good option for anyone who isn't able to pick up an item themselves.

It fills a gap in the local delivery options that only allow larger items to be delivered through Dolly. The service is limited to a little over two dozen cities throughout the US, and allows you to connect with one or two local helpers that will load large items into a pickup truck and deliver them to your house for a fee. Meta allows sellers to ship items directly to a buyer.

How much it costs and how many users have the option for DoorDash deliveries are not known. Meta and DoorDash confirmed to the WSJ that they are testing it in a number of US cities. Ali Musa, a DoorDash spokesman, wouldn't give any further information when contacted.

Tony Xu, the CEO of DoorDash, joined Meta's board of directors just months ago. In the past few years, DoorDash has expanded its delivery service to include items other than takeout orders, such as groceries, alcohol, personalized gifts, prescriptions, and even COVID-19 test kits. The company signed a deal with Dollar General to offer same-day delivery last year.
