Doctors are gathering to celebrate Doctor Who's 60th anniversary. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the transition to the next era of the show may be different with Ncuti Gatwa next in line.
Jodie Whittaker, the 13th Doctor, will be taking her bow in a special that will be part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Next year marks the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who and David Tennant will reprise his role as the time lord. According to The Hollywood Reporter, co-star Neil Patrick Harris said some comments that have led to speculation that Gatwa will appear in 2023's celebrations, a move that could see the incarnation of the Doctor regenerated into Gatwa's. The details about the special, as with most things Doctor Who, are being kept tightly under wraps by the BBC, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The 14th season of Ncuti Gatwa will begin this November with a premiere that could be in four years. Hopefully Gatwa will play a big part in the celebration next year. He will be in the next season of Sex Education as well as the movie Barbie.
