Apple brought back the phone's battery percentage to the status bar for the first time in a long time this week, shocking the people who are testing the new mobile operating system.

This week, Apple has started recording portions of its media event planned for next month to introduce the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8, as well as claims about the price of the device and Apple's plans to switch to a new charging method for its headphones.

iOS 16 Beta 5 Adds Battery Percentage to iPhone Status Bar

Five years after the introduction of the iPhone X with a notch and a battery percentage indicator, Apple has finally added the battery percentage back to the status bar.

There is a new battery icon on most models. Some people don't like the idea of the battery percentage appearing in the icon to save space.

Apple Reportedly Preparing Pre-Recorded iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 Event

Mark Gurman said this week that Apple has started to produce a pre-recorded video for the event, which would make it unlikely that Apple will have a fully in-person event again this year. There is a chance that Apple will invite the media to the event for hands-on demos.

At least five other products are expected to be announced this year, and at least two of them are expected to be the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8.

iPhone 14 Pro Models Rumored to Be More Expensive

The analyst said that Apple plans to raise the prices of the models.

While higher prices would be disappointing for customers, research firm TrendForce predicted that the starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro models would be less than the starting price of the 13 Pro models. In the US, the price for the 13 Pro models is $999.

Two New Connectors Rumored for Next-Generation iPad Pro

The next-generation iPad Pro will feature the same design as the current model, but with two new four-pin connections on the top and bottom.

Apple is expected to release new iPad Pro models with M2 chips and support for MagSafe wireless charging later this year, along with the delayed release of iPadOS 16 in October.

USB-C AirPods Expected to Launch in 2023

The second-generation AirPods Pro may still have a Lightning charging case, despite Apple's plan to switch to a new type of charging case for all of its products in the next few years.

Several accessories, such as the MagSafe battery pack and the Magic Mouse, are expected to be included in the next iteration of the phone.

"Get the message" is a new website that calls on Apple to include Rich Communication Services in the Messages app on the phone.

Apple hasn't responded to the push from Google to switch from text to voice. Read receipts, audio messages, and more would be possible with the help of RCS.
