Several parents said they were going to go onto the locked down campus to protect their children and three parents were arrested outside of the school.

The man who appeared to have a handgun tried to get into the building but the door was locked and he was chased off by the staff.
Chavez said that some of the information was not straight forward. Students and staff were moved out of the area after police found a suspicious package in a hallway. The police did not say what the item was, but it wasrendered safe.
Chavez said that it's illegal to have firearms on the campus. He said that the parent with the gun faces a disorderly conduct charge. There were no charges against the other parents. They have not been named.
He said that one of the parents was injured and taken to the hospital.
During a lock down, no one can enter or leave the school.
