The man who tried to enter the FBI office in Cincinnati was a Navy veteran who was known to the government.
Ricky Shiffer was in the Navy. "Shiffer had to be eligible for top secret clearance in his job as an E-5 as he was in charge of overseeing equipment associated with missiles and torpedoes."
His most serious run-in with the law prior to Thursday was in 2003 when he was issued a speeding ticket after five years in the Navy.
Shiffer was charged with obstruction of legal process. He was sentenced to a month in jail a month later. NBC doesn't know what happened in the case because the record has been wiped clean. The news outlet sent an email to Moorhead police, but they didn't reply.
The New York Times reported that Shiffer was known to the FBI after they found out he was at the Capitol riot. The information gathered by officers did not contain a specific and credible threat.
The FBI said that an armed man tried to break into their Cincinnati office.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Shiffer was shot and killed by officers after he raised a gun.
Before Donald Trump was killed, Shiffer documented a failed attack on his social network.
I thought I could get through bullet proof glass. If you don't hear from me, it's true that I tried attacking the F.B.I., and it's possible that they took me off the internet, or they sent the regular cops. According to NBC News, it's at 8 pm. There is no account on the platform anymore.
Shiffer encouraged violence against the FBI after the Mar-a-Lago property was raided.
One post said to "kill the FBI on sight and be ready to take down other active enemies of the people."
