The company and federal authorities said this week that Lyons Magnus expanded a voluntary recall of some of its popular products because of the risk of microbialContamination.

There were no illnesses or complaints related to the recalled products, according to the company. A company statement on Wednesday announcing more products had been recalled did not mention whether anyone had been sick.

The company said in a statement that the FDA posted a list of 89 products along with lot and case numbers involved in the recall. The company said some of the products were distributed around the country.

According to the statement, the products did not meet commercial sterility specifications.

F.D.A. officials didn't respond to questions on Friday.

There are varieties of Organic Valley milk that are recalled.

Cronobacter sakazakii and Clostridium botulinum were included in the company's statement. Cronobacter sakazakii can cause life threatening infections that can cause inflammation of the brain and spine. The World Health Organization says Clostridium botulinum can cause a severe form of food poisoning.

Although Clostridium botulinum has not been found in products, consumers are warned not to consume any of the recalled products even if they don't look or smell spoiled. Consumers are advised not to eat products that are past their best by date.

Cronobacter sakazakii, which is rare, can cause a variety of symptoms. Clostridium botulinum can cause illness from six hours to two weeks after eating contaminated food and can be fatal. Symptoms can include slurred speech and muscle weakness.
