The players who have signed up with Saudi-funded LIV Golf and have been suspended can get a fullPGA Tour card for next season.

The eligibility criteria of players in good standing are affected by the decision of the PGA Tour to make sure suspended players don't affect them.

The tour now has two lists, one for the FedEx Cup and another for the eligibility points list. That's how Rickie Fowler was able to get into the FedEx Cup playoffs.

There will be separate lists for career money leaders.

There is a one-time exemption for being in the top 50 in career money and a second one for being in the top 25. The top 25 exemption is used first by a player.

Sabbatini didn't keep his full card last year. He used his one-time, top-50 exemption for this season because he was ranked 29 in career money. In the FedEx Cup, he finished out of the top 125.

Sabbatini would have fallen to 31st. The five players who resigned will no longer be listed on the career money list. Four other people have been suspended and will not be counted.

Sabbatini will be able to use his top 25 exemption and have a full card for next season.

Sabbatini's last win was at the Honda Classic in 2011.

The math gets even more complicated when you consider that the threshold of points required for players to qualify for the tour finals has been changed by the resignation of a player Anthony Quayle, Chris Naegel, Rick Lamb, and others will be trying to earn cards later this month.
