After an uproar that included both attendees and some of its own streamers, the platform has decided to require masks and proof of vaccinations for all attendees of its upcoming convention in San Diego.

The beginning of a major update reads, "We've been listening to all of your feedback and know that many of you want stricter health measures in place to help you feel safe."

If you're 5 years old or older, you need to wear a snug mask that covers the nose and mouth, and you need to have a record of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours. Is it possible that I can't handle that? refunds are available until August 19th.

Hi! I’m excited to share that masks will be required at TwitchCon San Diego. I look forward to seeing you there :) I want to personally thank @CrevLMTV for creating the uservoice that helped lead to this change, as well as each and every one of you who voted on it. pic.twitter.com/AkREOdmidO

The CDC is no longer telling people to stay six feet away from other people if they are exposed to COVID-19.

It still states that anyone who was exposed should wear a high quality mask for 10 days and be tested after five, and that anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 should be kept away from others.

There is still masking, like the Pandemic itself.
