(AP) _ The winning numbers in Saturday evening's drawing of the Wisconsin Lottery's "5 Card Cash" game were: The Wisconsin Assembly Republican leader who hired a former state Supreme Court justice to investigate the 2020 election fired him on Friday three days after the lawmaker beat his primary opponent.

After being hired by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to look into the election under pressure from Donald Trump, Michael Gableman was fired. Vos' relationship soured with both Trump and Gableman.

Vos said he was confident in Gableman's ability. Vos said Gableman was an embarrassment to himself and to the state. Gableman has said that Vos never wanted a real investigation.

After having many members of our caucus reach out to me, it is clear to me that we only have one choice, and that is to close the Office of Special Counsel.

Gableman's didn't reply to an email asking for comment.

Gableman was fired after his work drew criticism.

The firing of the Gableman and the probe has been highly critical of by Tony Evers, who has been a vocal critic.

I think it was a good decision. The chair of the Senate elections committee said that it would have been better if it had been done six months ago.

When Gableman said in a report that lawmakers should consider decertifying the 2020 election, there was a big fissure between Vos and Gableman. Vos said that it's both unconstitutional and impossible to do.

Gableman told Vos in private that the goal of the probe was not to overturn the election. Lawmakers were told by Gableman's lawyer that decertification was pointless.

People who are concerned about election integrity should focus on defeating Evers. The Republican candidate for governor of Wisconsin supports the dissolution of the elections commission.

Chris Walker wouldn't comment on Gableman's dismissal.

Gableman was hired by Vos to calm the pressure he was feeling from people who believed in Trump. President Joe Biden won Wisconsin by over 20,000 votes, an outcome that has survived lawsuits, recounts, audits, and even Gableman's own investigation.

Gableman's public comments critical of the speaker went up as did Trump's. Gableman wanted to put pressure on Vos to extend the justice's contract. Vos' monthly pay was cut from $11k to $10k. The investigation was put on hold in May.

When Trump and Gableman endorsed Vos' opponent, the race became tighter than expected. Vos won with 260 votes. Lawmakers don't have to be a lapdog to Donald Trump, according to Vos.

Gableman is facing legal troubles.

Gableman is in contempt of court for not complying with the state's open records laws. The judge accused Gableman of making sarcastic remarks about a female attorney and refusing to answer questions in court.

The committee that disciplines attorneys for possible further action, including suspension or revocation of Gableman's law license, was forwarded by Remington. There are four open records lawsuits by American Oversight. Gableman filed a lawsuit to have the Madison and Green Bay mayors jailed for not providing testimony in private.

The total tab for Gableman's investigation, all paid by taxpayers, is over one million dollars.

Gableman's national profile has been raised by the probe. He was a regular on conservative talk radio and gave a prayer at the Wisconsin rally where Trump was speaking.

Gableman was criticized for his lack of expense records, confusing emails, and meeting with conspiracy theorists. In the records released during the lawsuits, Gableman and his team frequently spelled Vos wrong.

It was time for Gableman to be fired, according to Agard.

She said she was happy that Speaker Vos stopped the bleeding for the tax dollars going to a sham investigation.
