The State Department is testing an online passport renewal program that will be available to the first 25,000 applicants.
The online passport renewal portal will be open to all US citizens later this year, according to the department.
The State Department said that if you're eligible, you won't have to mail your renewal application.
President Biden ordered the Secretary of State to design and deliver a new online passport renewal experience that does not require any physical documents to be mailed.
The State Department is looking for up to 25,000 people to test the portal. The online portal allows people that meet certain requirements to apply and even take a photo with their phone.
Stipulations include applicants being at least 25 years old and living in the U.S., that the passport was issued between 2007 and 2013, and that the passport can't be lost or stolen.
