Facebook suddenly won't stay in dark mode and aaarggh, my eyes!

My eyes are aaarggh.

My Facebook app keeps reverting to light mode no matter how many times I change it to dark mode.

I thought it was a problem that would go away. I felt like I was going crazy. Other people are experiencing it as well.

There is a new version of the Facebook app on my phone. The release notes said that the app was updated to fix crashes and make features load faster. It looks like you've broken dark mode as well. It needs to be fixed.

If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about, I'm talking about a feature in settings and privacy that you can find in dark mode. The app's appearance can be adjusted by setting it to "On," "Off," or "System," which will check if dark mode is enabled on the phone.
